Mardi Gras...

Like most people, we thought Mardi Gras was a lot of drunk people in New Orleans flashing parts of their body that should remain covered up. Scott had an overnight for work during the Mardi Gras celebration, so we thought we'd go and check it out for ourselves since New Orleans has become our favorite city. We got in late on Saturday and went to church on Sunday morning. I love attending church there with it's eclectic members. After talking with the members, who set us straight about just what really goes on during Mardi Gras parades and putting to rest that it's all vulgar drunk people flashing themselves. They recommended the best spots to be on the parade route and where it was mostly families sitting together. The parade was SO MUCH FUN!!! The whole time I kept telling Scott, "We have to bring the kids next year!" Unfortunatley, it was raining most of the time- but the parade carried on.

Taking Football Too Serious...

These boys took the Denver Broncos loss in the Superbowl to the Seattle Seahawks pretty seriously. As a woman, I don't understand what seems to be this inborn passion for sports teams wins and losses. But what I do know is I have a lot of years ahead of dealing with emotion-filled game watching.
